The Magnelex uses two layers of 240T aluminized polyester: a silver reflective outer layer that redirects solar radiation back outside, and a black polyester inner layer that absorbs any remaining heat before it reaches the cabin. The Magnelex uses a twist-fold (pop-up) mechanism enabled by the memory-wire frame around the perimeter. To collapse: fold the shade in half keeping the frames aligned, then grab opposite corners and twist them in opposite directions simultaneously.
