It's a beast of a radar detector. Absolutely a beast.
My old radar detector was just about 13 years old. The difference in tech is absolutely INSANE. I love that the alert can be changed; so I changed it to a very MILD chime; The navigation app that is for this device is also quite good; works very well. LOVE the programmability of the color scheme for the display; changed mine to GREEN. The DIRECTIONAL arrows answers that question that older units NEVER answered; where is the radar signal coming from. The fact that this unit includes stealth features makes it very worthwhile for traveling.Yes, I wish it were only $400 or so; but because I will start traveling a bit more; it's worth the cost to help keep me aware of speed traps, etc. With the phone app working with the unit, you also get speed warnings; without the app, you get a default speed warning ( OVERSPEED is what is says when going over the speed limit set ) . With the app, it displays the speed limit that is for the road you are on; and beside it is the speed that you are traveling. Very NICE feature.The included suction cup; try it prior to buying any other mount; it might surprise you as to how well and stable that the unit is with the included suction cup.Quality of the build : ABSOLUTELY BUILT LIKE A TANK. Feels like all metal construction for the sides and top and bottom. I mounted mine above the right side of the mirror; it can almost not be seen from the front of the vehicle and definitely not from the side or back . I mounted mine for stealth.I thought I was going to regret the price; but after using for a while, it's not even a consideration anymore.Would I buy this again if I needed to ? ABSOLUTELY. But I'm usually a believer in buying quality and quality comes with a price; Buy once; cry once.. ( Oh, wait, I never cried over this purchase ).
