The product listing spec says 10 days, but community evidence from long-term reviews tells a different story. Duration depends heavily on the adjustable lid setting: with the lid mostly closed, multiple owners report 6-8 weeks of noticeable scent; with the lid partially open, 3-4 weeks is typical; with the lid wide open in direct sunlight, some report as little as 2 weeks. Placing the unit in a door pocket or under a seat (out of direct sun) extends life significantly.

Refills are sold in packs of 5 or 10 at lower per-unit cost than the case plus refill combo. The case itself lasts indefinitely; only the cartridge is consumable.

The CS-X3 is designed for dashboard mounting via included double-sided tape; it is not a vent clip. Some users place it in the door pocket, center console, or under the seat instead. Vent mounting is not supported by the product design, but the scent fills the cabin regardless of placement location because the gel evaporates passively.
