formula_result = (quality × 0.60) + (health × 0.25) + (environment × 0.15)
composite = (formula_result × 0.75) + (cct_opinion × 0.25)

Step order

1. Read SDS: note signal word, H-codes (§2), ingredients (§3), PPE (§8), physical data (§9), Prop 65 (§15)
2. Compute health: base 10.0 → non-Cat-1 deductions → Cat-1 deductions (diminishing) → Cat-1 ceiling → floor clamp → bonuses → 9.5 ceiling
3. Compute environment: base 7.0 × 1.00 (neutral) → deductions → credits → clamp → store pre-rounding decimal
4. Score quality: assess each dimension against community evidence → multiply by weights → sum
5. Set CCT opinion: 5–10 scale; 7.0 is neutral; above-average product, good brand
6. Compute composite = formula_result × 0.75 + opinion × 0.25
7. Check hard caps from cct-score.md
8. Determine lifecycle_state: published_pass (no DANGER, no Prop 65, no asthmagen, no PFAS, no high_voc) or published_flag
9. Determine award: Top Pick ≥ 8.5 (quality ≥ 8.0), Recommended ≥ 7.0 (quality ≥ 6.5)

Common mistakes to avoid

• Do not use H227 to set signal_word_danger. H227 (combustible liquid Cat 4) is a physical hazard, not a health hazard. The health score uses health-tier H-codes only for the DANGER deduction.
• Do not set lungs: required unless H331, H330, or H334 is confirmed in SDS §2. H333 (Acute Tox Cat 5 inhalation) alone does NOT warrant lungs: required.
• Do not use Rainforest Prop 65 flag alone for prop65_warning. Chemical Guys has 15+ documented false positives. Always verify SDS §15.
• Cap durability_protection ≤ 6.0 when no community 6-month follow-up data exists.
