  • IUPAC: triglycerides from Neovison vison

No H-codes at typical product concentrations. No skin-sensitizer (H317), skin irritation (H315), or eye irritation (H319) classification at mixture level. Animal-derived oil; not a lanolin derivative — not associated with lanolin sensitization reactions.

Mink oil is an animal-derived conditioning oil rendered from the fat layer of mink pelts (Neovison vison). It is primarily composed of triglycerides with a high proportion of unsaturated fatty acids, particularly palmitoleic, gadoleic, and oleic acids — a fatty acid profile closer to human sebum than most plant oils, which is why it absorbs readily into leather and skin without a greasy residue. It has no recognized GHS hazard classification at mixture-level concentrations in consumer products and is not a lanolin sensitizer. Mink oil is sometimes withheld as a trade secret in SDS filings due to its value as a proprietary conditioning active.
