Valentine Research

Valentine Research is a Cincinnati-based company founded by Mike Valentine, a former Cincinnati Microwave engineer who created the original Escort and Passport radar detectors. Valentine Research has produced a single product line — the Valentine One — since 1992, iterating on hardware generations rather than proliferating models. The Valentine One is the only windshield-mount radar detector with front and rear radar antennas providing directional threat arrows, a feature the enthusiast community considers its defining advantage. The Gen2 (2020) introduced Bluetooth connectivity and a modernized receiver platform while maintaining the directional arrow system and the brand's lifetime warranty with transferable ownership.
