Uniroyal was founded in 1892 as the United States Rubber Company and adopted the Uniroyal name in 1961. Michelin acquired the tire business in 1990 and today operates Uniroyal as its value-tier brand in North America. Tires are engineered on Michelin's shared platforms but sold at significantly lower price points than Michelin-branded products, competing against other value brands on treadwear warranties and UTQG grades. The Tiger Paw lineup is the flagship consumer product series.
