Stanadyne has roots going back to 1876 as a precision engineering company and became prominent in the diesel industry through the manufacture of fuel injection pumps — the kind found in John Deere tractors and GM diesel engines across several decades. The brand was acquired by Parker Hannifin, the motion and control technology conglomerate, and now operates under Parker's Engine Mobile Aftermarket division based in Kearney, Nebraska.

The Stanadyne Performance Formula is the brand's consumer-facing diesel fuel additive line, marketed as an all-season multifunctional treatment covering cetane improvement, injector cleaning, lubricity protection, corrosion inhibition, and cold-weather anti-gel protection. The brand's heritage in diesel injection system manufacturing gives the Performance Formula positioning as an OEM-adjacent product, though Stanadyne injection pumps are no longer manufactured for the consumer market.
