Philips Automotive Lighting is a division of Lumileds, the lighting company spun off from Philips and now operating as a standalone global manufacturer. The Philips brand on automotive bulbs is licensed from Signify (the former Philips Lighting entity). Lumileds manufactures bulbs for both OEM vehicle production — supplying halogen, HID, and LED light sources directly to automakers — and for the aftermarket under the Philips consumer brand.

The aftermarket lineup spans three main tiers: Philips Standard (OEM-equivalent replacement), Philips X-tremeVision (mid-tier brightness upgrade, historically +100% over legal minimum), and Philips RacingVision GT200 (premium tier, +200% over legal minimum, shorter rated life). All three tiers use ECE R37 homologation for use in European and international markets; US-market products carry the same homologation and are sold as direct-fit replacements for DOT-compliant halogen housings.

Lumileds manufactures headlight bulbs for a wide range of vehicle OEMs and is headquartered in San Jose, California, with manufacturing operations in the Netherlands, Malaysia, and other locations.
