OSRAM Automotive is a division of ams OSRAM, supplying both OEM and aftermarket lighting to the global vehicle market. OSRAM has held OEM supply relationships with European and North American automakers for decades, and the Night Breaker halogen line uses the same quartz envelope and tungsten filament technology found in original-equipment applications — with a modified filament geometry that raises light output at the cost of shorter rated life.

The Night Breaker name is OSRAM's premium halogen upgrade line. Night Breaker products carry ECE R37 certification for all-road use in international markets. US-market versions are sold as direct-fit replacements for DOT-compliant halogen housings; the ECE homologation is the compliance basis used by OSRAM in lieu of a separate US DOT stamp on the packaging, consistent with how other OEM-supply-relationship brands handle US compliance.

OSRAM manufactures bulbs under the OSRAM, SYLVANIA, and Ledvance brands across different regions and product lines, headquartered in Munich with manufacturing facilities in Germany, the United States, and other locations.
