Biocide Systems

Biocide Systems is a US small-business brand specializing in chlorine dioxide (ClO2) odor-elimination products. The brand's core technology — sold under the ClO2-DMG name — generates chlorine dioxide gas in situ from a sodium chlorite and acid granule pack activated by water. The gas oxidizes odor-producing molecules rather than masking them with fragrance.

The product line includes the Auto Shocker (car interiors up to 250 cubic feet), Room Shocker, Marine Shocker, and RV Shocker — all single-use total-release vapor treatments in the same format, sized for different cubic volumes. A Liquid Shocker variant exists for hard-surface deodorization.

Biocide Systems is based in Los Angeles, CA (409 E. 4th St., Suite 105) and sells direct-to-consumer through biocidesystems.com and Amazon. The brand has been commercially available since at least 2009. SDS documentation is limited: only the ClO2-DMG precursor granule MSDS (2014 revision, pre-GHS OSHA format) and a DoggiCleen MSDS are publicly available on the brand's MSDS page; the finished Auto Shocker product does not have its own GHS SDS on file as of 2026-05-29.
