Battery Tender is a brand of Deltran Corporation, founded in Deland, Florida, in 1965. The Battery Tender Plus — a 12V 1.25A automatic maintainer — became a reference product in the category and is one of the longest-running and most-reviewed battery chargers on the American market. The brand built its reputation on leave-it-connected reliability: the charger switches to a low-current float mode once the battery is fully charged, preventing overcharge without disconnecting. Battery Tender products are ETL Certified to US electrical safety standards and backed by a 10-year manufacturer warranty — both uncommon at the product's price point. The brand focuses on lead-acid chemistries (FLA, AGM, GEL) and does not market its standard lineup for lithium (LiFePO4) batteries, a clear and honest boundary that distinguishes it from many competitors who claim broad chemistry compatibility without independent verification.
