- How do I know which brake pads fit my car?
- Pick your year, make, and model above. We show only the pads with a fit confirmed against two independent catalogs (a factory part number and a pad-maker's own application list), split into front and rear. Because brake pads also fork by brake package — base vs. sport, Brembo, towing, or performance — confirm the package on the part matches your car before buying.
- Are front and rear brake pads the same?
- No. Front and rear pads are different parts on every car — front pads are usually larger and do most of the braking. We always list them separately so you order the correct pair for each axle.
- Why does CarCareTruth sometimes not show a confirmed pad for my car?
- When a car's brake pads can only be told apart by VIN at a dealer (some full-size trucks have several overlapping part numbers for the same year and engine), we don't guess. Rather than risk putting the wrong pad in your cart, we hand you a direct search and tell you to confirm your brake package.
- Does the brake package matter when buying pads?
- Yes — a lot. A base-brake car and the same car with a sport or Brembo package take physically different pads that won't interchange. Our results label the package each pad fits; match it to your car's brake option before buying.
