Aerosol Air Freshener

Adam's Aerosol Air Freshener is a pressurized aerosol that delivers a citrus fragrance into your car's interior. The formula is acetone (60–80%) as the carrier solvent, propane (10–30%) and butane (5–10%) as the pressurizing propellants, and an undisclosed citrus fragrance blend that makes up the remaining ~5–15%. The acetone carrier keeps the fragrance in solution, helps it disperse quickly as a fine mist, and flash-evaporates on contact — leaving fragrance behind without a wet residue. Performance is straightforward: it masks interior odors effectively. The "neutralizer" marketing is a stretch — there's no enzyme, zinc compound, or activated carbon doing actual odor destruction. What it does is fill the cabin air with a citrus scent that covers the offending smell.

Car owners who want a quick burst of freshness after a workout or a fast-food run and don't want to fuss with plug-in air fresheners. It's also a natural fit for detailers doing final presentation on a just-cleaned interior — a quick shot before handing the keys back. Just be careful about the flammability.

Anyone with fragrance sensitivities or who's managing genuine odor problems (smoke damage, pet accidents, mildew). The acetone/fragrance formula will mask but not solve those problems. The fragrance blend is a skin sensitizer (H317) — repeated bare-hand contact can build up an allergic reaction over time, so gloves during use are genuinely warranted, not just SDS boilerplate. The high acetone content can cause dizziness in a poorly-ventilated enclosed space (H336), so crack the windows. Safety glasses are a reasonable precaution against aerosol mist near your face.

The propane/butane propellants are greenhouse gases, though in trivially small quantities per can. The fragrance compounds are the source of the 25% regulated VOC — they contribute to ground-level ozone formation when they react with sunlight. Acetone is VOC-exempt in US regulations and biodegrades readily. None of the listed ingredients are aquatic toxins or PFAS. The can itself is a pressurized steel container — take it to a household hazardous waste facility when empty, not regular recycling.
