Second-generation Touareg on a lighter, more efficient platform. 3.6L VR6 / 3.0L V6 TDI hybrid / 3.0L TDI diesel. The Touareg Hybrid (3.0L supercharged V6 + electric) was one of the first hybrid luxury SUVs in the US. US sales ended after the 2017 model year — the third-gen Touareg (CR) was never sold in North America, replaced in the US lineup by the Atlas.

Watch out: TDI cars affected by the 2015 emissions buyback. Hybrid cars: high-voltage battery and integrated electric motor add long-term cost watch-outs out of warranty. Air suspension wear is consistent across all Touareg generations.
