Toyota Tundra 2nd Generation

The 2nd-gen Tundra finally went toe-to-toe with the domestic full-size trucks on size, towing, and bed length. The headline engine was the 5.7L 3UR-FE V8, paired across most of the run with a 6-speed automatic. Cab styles spanned Regular Cab (through 2017), Double Cab, and CrewMax. Long production run with a 2014 mid-cycle refresh that reworked the front sheetmetal and interior.

Watch out: Secondary air injection pump failures on 2007-2013 5.7L V8 trucks. Toyota issued a Customer Support Program extending warranty coverage to 10 years or 150,000 miles on the air pump assembly and air switching valves for affected Tundras and Sequoias. A failed pump throws codes in the P2440-P2447 range and a check-engine light.
