Second-gen Sequoia ran the 5.7L 3UR-FE V8 with a 6-speed automatic for essentially its entire production. Switched to fully independent suspension (front and rear) — a comfort-over-capability call. A 4.6L V8 (1UR-FE) was offered early on. Notable for one of the longest unchanged production runs in modern SUV history.

Watch out: Owner reports of cam-tower oil leaks on high-mile 3UR-FE engines; air-suspension (where equipped) compressor failures common past 100k mi. Same 5.7L architecture as Tundra and Land Cruiser 200.
