The 100 Series introduced independent front suspension (a polarizing departure from the solid-axle 80 Series) and the 4.7L 2UZ-FE V8 to the US Land Cruiser line. The Lexus LX 470 is the upmarket twin. Bulletproof drivetrain reputation; values have appreciated as 80 Series prices climb out of reach.
