Toyota FJ Cruiser Single Generation (XJ10)

20072014 · XJ10 · suv

The FJ Cruiser was Toyota's homage to the original FJ40 Land Cruiser, sold in the US from 2007 through 2014. Built on the F2 platform shared with the 4Runner and Prado, powered exclusively by the 4.0L 1GR-FE V6. Rear-hinged half-doors (suicide doors) behind the front doors. Discontinued in the US after 2014, with a small Final Edition run. Strong resale value into the present day driven by collector interest and a loyal off-road following.

Watch out: Notoriously poor outward visibility from the driver's seat, especially over the right shoulder and at the rear quarter. Toyota added a backup camera as an option starting in 2009 and revised the front seat hinge mechanism for 2011 to improve rear-passenger access. Test drive in city traffic before buying to confirm the sight lines work for you.

Full clubhouse — owner Garage Lineage, common problems, year-by-year notes, and product picks — is on the build list.
