Tesla Cybertruck 1st Gen
2024–2026 · pickup
Tesla's all-electric pickup. Bare stainless steel body panels, no paint. 48V low-voltage electrical architecture (vs the industry's 12V), with steer-by-wire on the front axle and a yoke wheel. Two configurations sold: dual-motor AWD (~600hp, 350-mile range) and tri-motor 'Cyberbeast' (~830hp, 320-mile range). Customer deliveries began November 30, 2023; first full sales year was 2024. Built at Gigafactory Texas. Polarizing design and execution, equally lauded for the ambition and criticized for the practicality.
Watch out: First-year product, very real issues. (1) Stainless steel panel-gap and alignment complaints widespread on early units, the visible body panel fit is often poor. (2) NHTSA Recall 24V-051 covered an accelerator pedal pad that could dislodge and get stuck against the trim. Tesla halted deliveries to fix. (3) Multiple smaller recalls for software, windshield wiper motor, and front exterior trim. (4) The novel steer-by-wire and 48V architecture have no long-term failure data. Pre-purchase: aggressive panel-gap inspection and full recall completion check.
Full clubhouse — owner Garage Lineage, common problems, year-by-year notes, and product picks — is on the build list.
