Subaru Tribeca Single Generation (WX)

20052014 · WX · suv

The B9 Tribeca launched as a 2006 model with polarizing center-grille styling and a 3.0L EZ30 flat-six. A heavy 2008 facelift dropped the B9 prefix and softened the front end, and from 2008 the engine grew to the EZ36 3.6L flat-six. AWD was standard. Three-row seating was available but the third row is small. Discontinued after 2014 when Subaru moved its three-row efforts to the Ascent (which arrived for 2019).

Watch out: Owner reports of timing chain tensioner noise on aging EZ30 and EZ36 engines, valve cover gasket leaks, and fuel economy that was poor enough to define the car's reputation. Aging suspension and worn rear shocks on higher-mileage cars are common.

Full clubhouse — owner Garage Lineage, common problems, year-by-year notes, and product picks — is on the build list.
