Porsche's V8 grand tourer. 4.5L / 4.7L / 5.0L / 5.4L V8 — front engine, rear transaxle, 50/50 weight. Variants across S / S2 / S4 / GT / GTS. The final GTS (1992-1995) is the collector pick: 350 hp, manual or auto. Originally intended to replace the 911 — instead sold alongside it until production ended.

Watch out: Timing belt service every 60k miles (interference V8) is the most important maintenance item — failure is catastrophic. Self-leveling rear suspension, climate-control electronics, and 1980s-era body wiring are common wear points on three-decade-old cars. Buy on documented service history, not condition photos.
