First clean-sheet redesign of the G-Wagen in 39 years. New chassis, independent front suspension (live axle in the rear stays), wider stance, drastically larger interior. Same three locking differentials, same low range, same boxy shape. G550 runs the M176 4.0L twin-turbo V8 then transitions to the M256 inline-six mild-hybrid for 2025+. G63 AMG runs the M177 hot-V twin-turbo V8 at 577 hp.

Watch out: Independent front suspension is a polarizing change from the live axle. Ride quality way up, hardcore off-roaders feel the loss on big articulation.
