Major step in interior tech — twin 12.3-inch displays standard mid-cycle. M264 turbo-4 (E300), M256 inline-six with 48V EQ Boost (E450), M177 4.0L biturbo V8 in the E63 S AMG. Wagon (S213) and lifted All-Terrain wagon both sold in the US. The E63 S Wagon is the cult enthusiast trim — 603 hp, AWD, and one of the fastest wagons ever sold.

Watch out: 9G-Tronic transmission valve body / electronic control unit issues on the highest-mileage cars; OM654 diesel (Euro market) had its own DPF saga. M256 inline-six is broadly very reliable. 48V auxiliary system EQ Boost belt-starter generator failures emerging on high-mile examples.
