US never got prior A-Class hatchback generations — the W177 sedan (V177 body code in some references) was the first A-Class to reach America. M260 turbo-4 (A220 / A220 4MATIC). MBUX with twin-display interior launched here. AMG A35 (302 hp) and AMG A45 / 45 S (382/415 hp) follow in selected markets. US A-Class quietly discontinued for 2023.

Watch out: Discontinued in the US after the 2022 model year — Mercedes consolidated entry-luxury into the CLA. Used market is small and parts inventory will track that. M260 known for water pump and oil-cooler housing leaks 60-80k.
