Fifth-gen Sportage adopted Kia's Opposites United design language with boomerang LED running lights. The US gets the long-wheelbase variant exclusively. Lineup: 2.5L Smartstream GDI (187 hp), 1.6L turbo hybrid (227 hp combined), and 1.6L turbo PHEV (261 hp combined). X-Pro trim adds 17-inch all-terrain tires and brushed roof rails. Built in West Point, Georgia for the US.

Watch out: Smartstream-era engines have so far avoided the Theta family recall pattern. Early-build 2023 cars had some infotainment lockup complaints addressed by OTA. The hybrid and PHEV battery cooling and 12V auxiliary battery service intervals matter more than on the gas trim.
