Second-gen Niro moved to Hyundai-Kia's K3 platform and adopted the Opposites United design language, with a contrasting C-pillar treatment that became a love-it-or-hate-it talking point. US lineup: 1.6L Smartstream hybrid (139 hp combined), 1.6L PHEV, and the Niro EV (64.8 kWh, 253 miles EPA). The PHEV and EV trims were discontinued from the US for 2026. Built in Hwaseong, Korea.

Watch out: Smartstream hybrid powertrain has stayed clear of the Theta family recall pattern. First-year (2023) cars had some software-related screen glitches addressed with OTA updates. The PHEV and EV variants exit the US for 2026, so used buyers need to confirm warranty support and aftermarket parts availability.
