Infiniti G35 V35

20032007 · V35 · sedan

Third-generation Infiniti G, sold in the US as the G35, known in Japan as the V35 Nissan Skyline (the first non-GT-R Skyline to lose the rear-drive enthusiast bias, although V35 is RWD in the US). 3.5L VQ35DE V6 (~260-298hp depending on year/trim). RWD (AWD optional on sedan). 6-speed manual or 5-speed automatic. FM (front-midship) platform shared with the 350Z. Sedan launched first; coupe arrived for 2003 in roughly Z-coupe-with-back-seat form.

Watch out: Same VQ35DE oil-consumption pattern as the 350Z (real, documented). Rear suspension bushings wear out by 80-100k miles, wobble in corners and clunks over bumps are the tells. The early-year electronics (BCM, instrument cluster) have aged less well than the mechanicals.

Full clubhouse — owner Garage Lineage, common problems, year-by-year notes, and product picks — is on the build list.
