Second-generation FX, sold in the US first as FX35 / FX50 (2009-2012), then FX37 / FX50 (2013), then renamed QX70 for 2014. Engines: 3.5L VQ35HR (~303hp), 3.7L VQ37VHR (~325hp), or the 5.0L VK50VE V8 (~390hp) on the FX50 / QX70 5.0. 7-speed automatic. RWD or AWD. Built on the Nissan FM platform, same family as the G37/Q50 sedans. Coupe-roofline crossover that competed with the Porsche Cayenne / BMW X6 for the same 'sport SUV' buyer. Discontinued after the 2017 model year.

Watch out: VK56/VK50-family V8s are heavy on the front axle, wheel bearings and front-suspension bushings are routine wear items. VQ-family timing-chain wear is the secondary concern. The aging electronics, especially the early hard-drive-based nav, often need replacement by now. A clean QX70 5.0 with full service history is one of the cheapest V8 SUV experiences on the market.
