Honda Ridgeline 1st Generation

2006–2014 · YK1 · truck

The 1st-gen Ridgeline launched 2006 with the J35A9 3.5L V6, 5-speed automatic, full-time VTM-4 AWD, a unibody platform shared with the Pilot, and a 60/40 dual-action tailgate. The lockable in-bed trunk under the cargo floor became the truck's signature feature. North American Car of the Year for 2006. Took a model-year hiatus between 2014 and 2017 before the 2nd gen arrived.

Watch out: VCM-related oil consumption and torque-converter shudder carry over from the Pilot powertrain. Frame rust on northern-state cars after long road-salt exposure is a documented owner concern despite the unibody design.
