Honda NSX 1st Generation (NA1/NA2)

19902005 · NA1/NA2 · coupe

The original NSX (sold as Acura NSX in North America) launched 1990 as the first general production car with an all-aluminum semi-monocoque body. NA1 (1990-1996) used the C30A 3.0L V6 making 270hp. NA2 (1997-2005) brought the C32B 3.2L V6 (290hp) and a 6-speed manual. Rear-mid-engine, rear-wheel drive. Targa-top NSX-T joined the lineup for 1995. Production ended 2005 with fewer than 20,000 built worldwide.

Watch out: Snap-ring failure on early NA1 transmissions is the well-known driveline fault and the reason long-term owners insist on a transmission inspection before purchase. Timing-belt service is a long, expensive job because of the mid-engine layout. Originality and service history matter more than mileage on these cars.

Full clubhouse — owner Garage Lineage, common problems, year-by-year notes, and product picks — is on the build list.
