Honda CR-V 5th Generation

The 5th-gen CR-V went on sale December 2016 as a 2017 model. The 1.5L L15BE turbo replaced the K24 as the volume engine on EX and above; LX kept the K24W5 2.4L NA at launch and was dropped from the lineup after 2019. A two-motor hybrid joined the US lineup for the 2020 refresh. CVT only. FWD or Real Time AWD.

Watch out: 1.5L L15BE oil-dilution issue is the well-documented fault on this generation: gasoline mixing into engine oil under cold-start and short-trip use, raising the dipstick and degrading lubrication. Cold-climate states saw the worst of it; Honda issued software updates and extended warranty coverage for affected VINs.
