Honda Civic Si 8th Generation Si

2006–2011 · FG2/FA5 · coupe

The 8th-gen Si arrived for 2006 with the K20Z3 2.0L i-VTEC making 197hp at a 7800-rpm redline, a 6-speed manual, and a helical limited-slip differential standard. Coupe (FG2) launched first; Honda added a four-door sedan Si (FA5) for the 2007 model year, the first US Civic Si sedan. Last naturally aspirated, manual-only US Civic Si until the modern revival.

Watch out: Second-gear synchro wear on hard-shifted high-mile cars is the well-known sore point. Listen for crunching on the 2-3 shift on a test drive. Aftermarket triple-cone synchros are a common fix.
