Dodge Grand Caravan RT (5th Generation)
2008–2020 · RT · minivan
Built on the Chrysler RT platform, long-wheelbase only after 2008. Early years offered 3.3L, 3.8L, and 4.0L V6s; from 2011 onward the 3.6L Pentastar V6 (283hp) was the sole engine. Famous for Stow 'n Go second- and third-row seats that fold flat into the floor. Discontinued August 2020 to consolidate Chrysler-brand minivan sales under the Pacifica.
Watch out: 3.6L Pentastar left-bank rocker arm failure — a system-wide Chrysler issue on early Pentastars (mostly 2011-2013 builds). Symptoms: misfire on cylinders 2, 4, or 6, ticking at startup. TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Module) failures are also well-documented and trigger random electrical gremlins — wipers, fuel pump, doors all on the same module.
Full clubhouse — owner Garage Lineage, common problems, year-by-year notes, and product picks — is on the build list.
