Second-generation Cruze on GM's D2XX platform (sibling to Equinox 3rd gen, Buick Verano). 1.4L LE2 turbocharged I4 (153 hp) standard. 1.6L LH7 turbo-diesel (137 hp / 240 lb-ft) offered 2017-2019. 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic (gas), 9-speed auto or 6-speed manual (diesel). Hatchback body style added for 2017. Production ended March 2019.

Watch out: 1.4L LE2 turbo PCV valve / piston-ring oil-consumption issues and water-pump failures are widely documented. Diesel models have DEF / emissions-system reliability complaints typical of the era.
