BMW Z4 E89 (2nd Generation)

2009–2016 · E89 · convertible

Second-gen Z4 went to a power-folding hardtop and a more luxury-GT character. N52 inline-six (sDrive30i), N54 twin-turbo six (sDrive35i / 35is), and N20 turbo-4 (sDrive28i) late in the run. No M version — the slot belonged to the previous Z4 M. Manual transmission available on every variant.

Watch out: N54 cars: HPFP (high-pressure fuel pump) failures are the headline — BMW extended the warranty to 120k miles when this peaked. Hardtop hydraulics develop leaks; the headliner sag and microswitch failures are recurring forum topics.
