BMW M5 Touring G99

2025–2026 · G99 · wagon

G99 is the wagon body of the G90 M5 — first M5 estate since the E61 (2007-2010), and the first time the M5 Touring has ever been sold in North America. Announced June 2024; available from November 2024 for MY2025. Plug-in hybrid powertrain: 4.4L S68 twin-turbo V8 plus a transmission-integrated e-motor, combined 535 kW (717 hp). 8-speed automatic, xDrive AWD with rear-bias mode.

Watch out: Too new for documented field issues. As a PHEV, hybrid-system longevity and high-voltage battery health become long-term ownership considerations new to the M5 nameplate. Curb weight is significantly up vs. the F90 M5 due to the hybrid system — expect heavier tire and brake wear. PHEV charging at home requires Level 2 infrastructure to be useful.
