BMW 8 Series G15 (2nd Generation)

2019–2026 · G15 · coupe

BMW revived the 8 nameplate as a 6 Series replacement. 840i (B58 turbo-6), M850i (N63 V8). Coupe is G15, convertible G14, Gran Coupe sedan G16. M8 versions get their own chassis codes (F91/F92/F93). Production ends early 2026 — no direct replacement announced.

Watch out: N63-family V8 (M850i) still wants oil-consumption attention even in this latest iteration. The Gran Coupe is the volume seller; the coupe is the rarer collector configuration. Confirm any used G15 has had the 2020-era software updates applied.
