Seventh-generation 7. Dramatic split-headlight face, theatre-screen rear entertainment, and the same shell shared with the fully electric i7. Combustion lineup is the 740i (B58 turbo-6) and 760i xDrive (V8). No V12 successor — the N74 was retired with the G11. Long-wheelbase only in the US.

Watch out: Too new for a definitive watchout. Early-build software issues around the rear theatre screen and BMW Operating System 8 are the recurring forum complaint, not mechanical failures.
