BMW 6 Series E63/E64 (2nd Generation)

The E63/E64 is the second-generation BMW 6 Series, on sale from 2004 through 2010 as the E63 coupe and E64 convertible. US powertrains include the N62 V8 (645Ci, 650i), N52 inline-six (650i late additions and 630i abroad) and the S85 V10 in the E63/E64 M6.

Watch out: N62 V8 valve stem seals (blue smoke at startup) and alternator bracket gasket leaks are well-documented issues. S85 V10 rod bearings and SMG hydraulic pump failures are the headline M6 concerns. iDrive and convertible-top electronics complaints are widespread for the era.
