Audi RS5 B8 (1st Generation)

The B8 RS5 is the first US-market Audi RS5, sold for the 2013 through 2015 model years. It uses the naturally aspirated CFSA 4.2 FSI V8 producing 450 hp at 8,250 rpm. The drivetrain pairs a 7-speed S-tronic dual-clutch transmission with quattro all-wheel-drive featuring a crown-gear center differential.

Watch out: Owner reports of carbon buildup on intake valves (direct injection, high redline accelerates accumulation), high-pressure fuel pump issues and S-tronic mechatronic life are routine for the high-revving 4.2 FSI family. Carbon ceramic brake pad and rotor wear costs (on optional CCB-equipped cars) are a routine ownership consideration.
