Second-gen R8, US market years 2017-2024. 5.2L FSI/TFSI V10 only (V8 dropped after first gen). 540 hp (V10), 562 (V10 Plus / V10 Performance), 602 hp (V10 Performance RWD). 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch — no manual on the second-gen US R8. Coupe and Spyder. Shares engine and chassis bones with the Lamborghini Huracán. Production ended Q1 2024 with no direct successor.

Watch out: 5.2L V10 timing chain tensioners — the engine-out repair has appeared on the highest-mileage cars (rare but documented). Direct-injection intake-valve carbon. Magnetic ride dampers leak with age. Carbon ceramic brakes (standard on V10 Plus / Performance) at exotic-car replacement cost.
