Audi A5 B8 (1st Generation)

The B8 A5 is the first-generation Audi A5, sharing its MLB platform with the B8 A4. US sales ran from 2008 (model year 2008) through 2016 in coupe and cabriolet bodies (the Sportback hatch was not federalized for the US in the B8 era). Engines include the 2.0 TFSI four, the 3.2 FSI V6 (early) and the 3.0 TFSI supercharged V6 (later).

Watch out: 2.0 TFSI (EA888 generations 1 and 2) excessive oil consumption is the headline issue and is the subject of class-action litigation in the US. Owner reports of carbon buildup on intake valves, timing chain tensioner wear on early Gen 2 EA888 engines, and water pump life across both four and six-cylinder cars are routine.
