Thinkware

Thinkware is a South Korean electronics company that has focused on dash cam development since the mid-2000s. The brand is particularly associated with supercapacitor-based designs — a deliberate engineering choice that avoids the thermal-degradation problems lithium batteries face in hot-car environments. Thinkware products are distributed in North America under the Thinkware USA brand and are commonly stocked at Best Buy and specialty automotive retailers. The U1000, launched in 2019, was Thinkware's first 4K flagship. Its successor, the U3000, has since taken the top position in the lineup, but the U1000 remains notable as one of the earliest 4K supercapacitor dash cams with cloud connectivity and dual-band WiFi at the consumer level.
